Is The Maruti Suzuki Invicto Also Ready For A 5-Star BNCAP Rating? Details

The Maruti Suzuki Invicto shares many things with the Innova Hycross, and accotding to the fact sheet from the Bharat NCAP, these safety ratings are applicable to all variants including the strong hybrid. Given that these ratings apply to the Innova Hycross, by extension these ratings should also apply to the Invicto. However, Maruti Suzuki is yet to make any announcement on that front.
If you remember, as per the updated GNCAP norms, the Skoda Kushaq and the Volkswagen Taigun were among the first cars to receive a 5-star rating. These ratings, by extension, also applied to the Slavia and the Virtus. Interestingly, when the 4-star results for the Baleno also came in not too long ago, there was no mention of the Glanza anywhere.

The Innova Hycross has scored a total of 30.47 out of 32.00 points in adult occupancy safety tests, and 45.00 out of 49.00 points in child occupant safety. In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, protection to the driver and front passenger's head, neck, thighs, pelvis and feet. However, protection to the driver's chest and left leg are rated 'adequate.' Meanwhile, overall protection was rated 'good' in the side movable deformable barrier tests and the side pole impact tests.
In the child occupancy test, the Innova Hycross scored a full 24.00 points in the dynamic tests, and a full 12.00 in the installation of the child restraint system test, only falling four points short in the overall vehicle assessment out of a maximum of 13.00 points.

Similar to the Hycross, the Invicto also offers safety equipment such as a 360-degree camera, six airbags, vehicle stability control, hill-hold assist, ISOFIX anchorages, high-speed alerts, and ABS among other things. However, it is also possible that the Invicto may miss out due to not having Level 2 ADAS on offer. Either way, we might probably get our answer in the days or weeks to come.

Verdict
With the Innova Hycross scoring five stars at te Bharat NCAP, the fact that there has been no such announcement for the Invicto is a littl puzzling. However, the car maker is likely to address this in the coming few days or weeks.
