Tata Tiago NRG CNG Details
Tata introduced the NRG variant of Tiago to cover more audiences. Additionally, the vacant space of a small crossover worked just fine for this car. After its launch, the NRG has witnessed steady sales consistently. Tata also updated the car back in 2021 with a facelift. The new facelift brought more features and luxury appeal to the small crossover. However, the success of Tiago iCNG in the market has pushed the company to deploy the motor in the NRG as well. Hence, the NRG CNG has launched in India. The car is already starting to arrive at dealerships pan India. However, the prices for it will be announced on November 1 by Tata.

Design-wise the car remains completely the same as its siblings. The only change is under the bonnet with new mechanicals for CNG fitment. Meanwhile, the interior of the NRG CNG is also the same as the current car. However, under the hood, it will now use the Tiago iCNG-sourced bi-fuel motor. It is a 1.2-lt, 3-cylinder, petrol engine that produces a peak power of 72 bhp and 95 Nm of peak torque. This motor is coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission. The ARAI claimed fuel economy of this engine is 26.4 km/kg of CNG.

The NRG CNG remains feature-rich as earlier. It gets a touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay & Android Auto. Additionally, it gets steering-mounted audio controls, USB phone charging options, and automatic climate control as well. The available colour options for the CNG variant are - red, white, grey, & foliage green.
Verdict
If you are looking for a safe and sturdy commuter car that is easy on the pocket as well then wait for the NRG prices. It provides the best of both worlds; a crossover ground clearance with hatchback proportions. However, we suspect that it shall be priced a notch higher than its siblings. Its main rivals include - Maruti Suzuki Wagon R CNG & Maruti Suzuki Celerio CNG.
