- All new Toyota Hilux teased ahead of debut
- New front end with Land Cruiser inspired grille
- Might get the same 2.8L diesel engine
Make way for the indestructible Toyota Hilux, as its next-generation model is all set to debut on November 10, 2025, in Thailand. This beast of a vehicle has gained legendary status in India in a short span, and there are high chances that the folks at the Kirloskar Group will try to bring it here. Also, since this car shares its platform with the Fortuner, the new generation gives us a hint of what to expect from the third-generation Fortuner in terms of design. So, let's talk more about this - and in the meantime, do join our 91Wheels Whatsapp Channel to never miss an automotive update.

Toyota Hilux

So, this short teaser was all about giving the sneak peak of the Hilux light section. We see new, front facia with large black grille with Toyota lettering instead of logo in the center, same as Land Cruiser GR-Sport, and the slimmed LED headlights, which have an inverted C-shape DRLs, that even in such dark frame looks meaner and full of attitude. Also, new alloy wheels design with black paint is teased, which looks modern. Lastly, the rear section is enriched by LED headlights, and the handle to open the trunk has TRD badging, which means TRD Pro kit will also be coming for Thailand customers.

Now, the debut is scheduled for November 10, but we can already take several cues about what to expect from the upcoming Fortuner - a model that truly needs a fresh design, as the current version feels rather dated. The next-gen Fortuner is expected to feature a similar front fascia as the new Hilux, along with updated styling elements and Toyota's latest design language.

Powertrain

Here, we expect it to continue with the same 2.8-litre diesel engine, now paired with 48V mild-hybrid technology. This setup should produce 204 PS and 500 Nm when mated to the 6-speed torque converter automatic, and 420 Nm with the manual transmission. Apart from it, it will get more technology in terms of off-roading features, all to make it even more indestructible. That said, no news on it coming to India, but on November 10, 2025, we will get a clear idea of what the Toyota Fortuner will look like.

Verdict
The next-gen Toyota Hilux promises to build on its rugged legacy with updated design, added tech, and mild-hybrid power. While its India launch remains uncertain, the debut will also offer a glimpse of what's next for the Fortuner. If Toyota gets the balance right between performance, efficiency, and modern features, both models could redefine the brand's tough-yet-premium image in the segment.
