Nissan has used the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine and a 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine for the Tekton. The 1.0-litre engine is a 3-cylinder unit and is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. On the other hand, the 1.3-litre version is a 4-cylinder motor paired with a 6-speed manual and a DCT gearbox.

The Nissan Tekton will have to compete with some of the well-established rivals in the segment, such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, & Tata Sierra, and others. Nissan has kept the pricing competitive, but it will be interesting to see how the SUV performs in the market, especially when customers also have the option to purchase the Renault Duster, which offers a similar set of features and engine options. Moreover, the Duster is set to get a hybrid powertrain, which the Tekton will miss out on.
