Hyundai's premium crossover/mid-size SUV, the Tucson, was recently spotted in South Korea under full protective covers, yet still revealing several key details. This is also the most expensive ICE vehicle by Hyundai on sale in India, brought here via the CKD route, which is why it costs upwards of Rs 30 lakh, even for the base trim. Let's learn what the upcoming generation will bring to the table. In the meantime, make sure to join the 91Wheels Whatsapp Channel to never miss out on automotive updates.

Hyundai Tucson

This SUV has been spied several times in this avatar, but for the first time ever, both interior and exterior shots reveal new details. At first glance, it appears that the Tucson has moved away from its curvaceous design language and will now feature boxy elements, reflecting the new-age Hyundai design, similar to the latest generation Hyundai Santa Fe. Additionally, the A-pillar has a sharper look, and even the ORVMs seem to incorporate a more solid design.

Other key details include flush door handles, which we believe will be featured, even though they're hidden under the protective covers. On the other hand, this particular model is sporting 20-inch dual-tone alloy wheels with a 5-spoke pattern. Due to the protective covers, the light setup and bumper details are not visible. However, considering it will be a smaller version of the Santa Fe, we can expect boxy LED headlights, a minimalist grille, and active air flaps in the bumper.

Interior
Talking about the interior, we can see a new front area shot, where new seats are visible. On the door panel, the seat ventilation buttons are placed next to the door handle, similar to what we've seen in the Kia Syros. However, this one features two switches, and we predict the other one will be for the heated seats.

This is all that's visible for now. However, according to the latest reports, it is believed that the Tucson will feature Hyundai's 'Pleos', a software brand that will power the infotainment system of this car.

Verdict
This will be the 5th generation of the Hyundai Tucson, and it is projected to launch globally in 2026, including in India. A few months ago, Hyundai revealed its future plans, announcing they will launch 26 products by 2030, so this could be one of them. Also, according to ongoing rumors, their biggest SUV, the Palisade, might also be on the cards. We haven't mentioned anything about the engine yet, as it's too early, but we expect the 2.0L NA engine to be discontinued.
