Tata Altroz Crash Test Video Out

Tata Motors has offered a behind-the-scenes look at the rigorous safety testing of the Tata Altroz facelift through its official YouTube channel. The premium hatchback is seen undergoing a series of controlled crash evaluations at the company's internal testing facility. These include the Front Offset Deformable Barrier Test at 64 km/h, Side Mobile Barrier Test at 50 km/h, and the Side Pole Impact Test at 29 km/h, all aimed at simulating real-world collision scenarios.

Notably, the updated Altroz is equipped with six airbags as standard and features extensive use of Ultra High Strength Steel in its construction, reinforcing its safety credentials. While these in-house tests suggest a strong safety focus, the official Bharat NCAP (BNCAP) safety rating is still awaited and expected to be revealed in the coming months. Until then, these internal tests offer a glimpse into Tata's efforts to further elevate the safety benchmark in the hatchback segment.

Among the tests featured is the Front Offset Deformable Barrier Test at 64 km/h, where the hatchback demonstrates strong structural integrity. The visuals suggest that the underbody and A-pillars remain stable during impact, while the six standard airbags deploy promptly and effectively, and with the impact on the cabin being low, it assures that a 5 star BNCAP rating is what it will get. However, with more safety features now onboard, it might improve on the scores compared to last time when it went for the GNCAP tests.

Tata Altroz Facelift Safety Features

The 2025 Tata Altroz has been engineered with a strong focus on occupant safety, thanks to its robust ALFA (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) platform underpinned by Ultra High Strength Steel (UHSS). This architecture forms a rigid safety shell intended to deflect and absorb crash energy effectively, enhancing passenger protection in the event of a collision. Tata has taken things a step further by offering six airbags as standard, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), hill hold assist, a 360-degree camera, antiglare IRVMs, a perimetric alarm system, rollover mitigation, immobiliser, TPMS, and even emergency support features like SOS and breakdown assist buttons, making it pretty robust in its safety suite.
Verdict
The crash test video showcases the parameter as per the crash testing norms where the Tata Altroz stood its ground with a pretty solid bodyshell. Now, the Altroz was already a 5 star rated model, but with the safety net now beefed-up, it is expected to fare better than the last time it was tested. As for the official BNCAP score, it is likely to be announced in the coming months.
